Hometown Architect open call for projects
As communities around Ireland face challenges like vacancy, dereliction, traffic management and depopulation, we are calling for local architects and community stakeholders to propose collaborative projects to regenerate their town or village centre in line with Ireland’s national Town Centre First Policy.
Do you have a vision for reimagining your hometown or village? Perhaps you are in a community group with big ideas for your main street, or an architect who has recently moved back home from the city. Let us help you get your ideas off the ground.
Project proposals for Hometown Architect 2024 must be made jointly by community stakeholders and an architect with a local connection. Three projects will be selected for development funding of €10,000 each plus mentoring and practical support from our placemaking team.
Application deadline: Friday 19 January 2024
Local Enhancement Programme 2024
This funding will provide capital supports essential for the many small community groups and organisations, particularly those who serve disadvantaged areas in rural and urban areas.
There will be a particular focus on small capital works/improvements, and the purchase of equipment for community use. The funding may be used, but is not limited to; improved access for persons with a disability; enhancing community participation for disadvantaged and marginalised groups, and improving energy efficiency of community facilities to reduce ongoing costs.
The scheme is designed to ensure local priorities are identified and met, so as to improve and enhance community facilities for all.
Wexford’s total allocation is €216,850.62.
Applications for funding can be made to Wexford County Council’s Local Community Development Committee.
Heritage Organisation Support fund
The Heritage Council’s “Heritage Organisation Support fund” provides funding support for the core costs of non-profit organisations working in the heritage sector of Ireland, up to a maximum amount of €60,000.
From wildlife and archaeology to architecture, archives and inland waterways, could your organisation benefit from this support?
