Consultations
National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland
The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has launched a public consultation for the Government’s second National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland.
The main purpose of the consultation is to seek the views of all interested parties on the content of the next National Social Enterprise Policy for Ireland.
Submissions can be made before 31st January 2024 and further details can be found Here
Events
Womens Health Initiative – Adamstown, with ARC FRC
New 8 week Women’s Health programme in Adamstown – one afterschool’s programme to young women aged 13- 17 years and an evening programme to women aged 18 – 99. The project is a collaboration with a number of project partners and supported by Healthy Wexford, through the Healthy Ireland Fund. New Ross Community Hospital Gala Dinner Dance
New Ross Community Hospital Gala Dinner Dance takes place on March 2nd at the Brandon House Hotel. Enjoy an exquisite Table D’Hote Dinner followed by dancing to the incredible Joe Davitt band. Step out in support of our local care setting.

Women for Election
Wexford County Council are hosting a Women for Election introductory session on Wednesday 31st January 2024 at 6.30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, Wexford County Council, Carricklawn, Wexford, Y35 WY93.
The purpose of this event is to support women who are interested in running for election in 2024 or in future elections. The event reflects the Council’s investment in increasing the involvement of women in local politics and elections as part of part the national programme to achieve gender balance.

Bealtaine Hero Award
The call for applications to the Bealtaine Hero Award is open to local, community based groups (or individuals) who wish to submit proposals for an event that offers an ambitious, creative and experimental invitation to their community this May, and that celebrates the spirit of the festival. All art forms and event types will be considered, however non-arts events will not be considered (please see guidelines for examples of arts and non-arts events).
Two awards of €500 will be made to the two successful applicants.
Deadline: 5pm, Friday February 19th, 2024.

Enniscorthy St. Patrick’s Day Committee
Enniscorthy Municipal District are looking for committee members for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Enniscorthy. This is a great opportunity for community members to have an input on the festival.
There is an open meeting next Tuesday 23rd January at 6pm in the Enniscorthy District Office, Market Square, Enniscorthy.

Camross Drama Group Play – ‘Gin Game’
Camross Drama group will perform their Full length play, ‘Gin Game’ by DL Coburn and directed by Michael Stafford in the following venues

The group will go on the drama circuit around the country after that starting in Kilmuckridge on Mon 26th Feb.
Changing Gears
Age & Opportunity is delighted to offer Changing Gears in person this February in
Wexford. Designed to boost wellbeing and resilience for those aged 50+ years, it is a five-session course which focuses on managing transitions in mid to later life.
This course is delivered in 2.5-hour sessions once a week over 5 weeks.
Venue: Ashdown Park Hotel, The Coach Road, Gorey, Co. Wexford Y25 V1D6
Dates: Thursdays 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 February 2024
Times: 11.15 am – 1:45 pm (which includes a comfort break with tea and coffee)

Workshops
PPN Grant Writing Workshop
Wexford PPN will be hosting another free Grant Writing workshop with Dr.Yvonne Byrne on 7th February at 7.30pm. Further details will be issued closer to the date, but content will be similar to the workshop previously delivered in November. This workshop will be delivered online.
The VOICE project
The VOICE project is an online platform where disabled people can come together to make new connections, learn the skills to engage in collective activism and work together to challenge the barriers that prevent us from fully participating in society.
If you would like to get involved or would like to learn more about the project, please come to our online information session this month. We will be starting a five-week series of workshops on the 13th of February that might be of interest to you. VOICE is a cross impairment space i.e., all disabled people over the age of 16 are welcome. The sessions take place on Zoom every Tuesday for five weeks from 7-8pm.

Digital Help Hub
The Digital Help Hub invites all adults who need help to use their phones, tablet, laptop better and to use the device to assist them in their everyday life – email, shopping, library services, banking, health services, travel etc.
It is a free service. The person can drop into the relevant library on the dates attached or they can phone to make an appointment with one of the 2 IT tutors. The phone number is 089 9843815.

Energise Your Community – SEC Webinar
As part of the Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) Programme, the South East Energy Agency is delighted to announce our webinar for groups interested in joining the SEC programme. This webinar is directed at community groups in the South East, as well as any interested parties and stakeholders.

Bat Conservation Ireland’s Online Training Platform
Bat Conservation Ireland have just launched our Online Training Platform, with our first course being provided free of charge. If you are interested in learning more about bats, their ecology and habitats, this is a great introduction.

Community Climate Action Programme – NOW OPEN!
The Community Climate Action Programme is now open and will close for applications on 6th March 2024. Now is the time to start planning for making an application so please contact Clinton Donovan, Community Climate Action Officer at 087-2139870 or email climateaction@wexfordcoco.ie
Funding of up to 100% of the cost of a climate action project is available through this scheme, up to a maximum of €100,000. Project examples could be insulation of community buildings, solar panels, bicycle parking, rainwater harvesting, community gardens / allotments, etc.

LGBT+ Helpline
The LGBT+ Helpline (Freephone 1800 929 539) is available 7 days a week with trained volunteers ready to listen. Our Helpline is available: Monday to Thursday: 6:30pm to 10:00pm, Fridays: 4:00pm to 10:00pm and Weekends: 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
